On Hell's Highway is a 2-map simulation of the massive Allied airborne assault and ground offensive into Nazi held Netherlands in September, 1944. Taking advantage of a disorganized and retreating German Army, more than three British and American airborne divisions were dropped along a 60 mile corridor in an attempt to capture key bridges across multiple rivers and canals, allowing the British XXX Corps to race northward and cross the Lower Rhine and into the industrial heartland of Germany. But Allied overconfidence, hasty planning, and some bad luck, along with a surprisingly tenacious and coordinated German defence, produced the last Allied operational failure and the destruction of an entire British Airborne division.
