The King in the North is a game that represents the first Civil War called the Carlist War that took place between 1833 and 1839, among the Carlists - supporters of the Infant Carlos Mar a Isidro de Borb n and an absolutist regime - and the so called Liberals, Cristinos or Isabelinos, defenders of Isabel II and the regent Mar a Cristina de Borb n, whose government was in the modest absolutist origins and eventually became liberal to obtain greater popular support.
